RATTAN RAGE

As the Boho trend continues to gain popularity in design, we are seeing a huge comeback in rattan. It is one of the biggest trends in 2018 design. But what is rattan? Is it the same as wicker? Wicker and rattan are two terms that commonly are confused and very often used interchangeably.

Rattan is a type of material that is used in wicker weaves. Wicker is a style of weave that is commonly used for baskets and furniture. If you are thinking of Grandmas white patio furniture, think again!

Rattan is easily incorporated into many design styles, including Scandinavian, Boho, Minimalist, mid-century modern and moderns spaces. It add's a vintage touch to any decor.

Something you should know about me, I am slightly obsessed with chairs. They seem to each have a story and their own personality. I love a good high back, clean lines and curves.

Check out this modern twist on rattan from Wayfair. The sleek black legs lend a nod to industrial design and are on trend with the matte black craze.

My favorite has to be the peacock chair. Its grand, its curvy and feminine, it's everything a chair should be. This room is absolute perfection, from the rug, decor , greenery, to the logs in the fireplace.

Hanging chairs aren't just for outdoors. They offer a relaxed and comfortable space to enjoy a good book or just to chill out. Add a comfy cushion or sheepskin throw and you're set.

What better way to enjoy your deck or patio than swinging in a hanging chair sipping your favorite glass of wine or enjoying a morning cup of coffee? Especially when it seats two!

If you aren't sure about rattan, adding a small decor piece like a shelf, plant hanger or mirror will add that Boho vibe without going overboard.

Check out this budget friendly plant stand and basket from IKEA. Adding greens to your home makes it feel lived in and warm.
