Our Mountain Highway project is a 4 bedroom old time rancher that at some point had been home to a DIY’er. The original scope was to reconfigure the existing two small adjoining baths into one large functional bathroom, and add an ensuite to the master bedroom. Once we opened up the walls, we discovered the majority of the walls were 2x3 construction and sheeted with plywood. We quickly removed all of these walls, and reframed all new 2x4 walls. Then came the concrete removal. Lots and lots of concrete. We roughed in the new ensuite which included a custom walk in shower and small walk in closet off of the ensuite.
Other upgrades in the home included all new doors and hardware, modern wainscoting at the entrance, new lighting, kitchen plumbing fixtures, new kitchen backsplash, reconfiguration of the kitchen cabinetry, all new flooring and paint throughout, new baseboards and window trim, and barnwood feature walls in the master bedroom and photography studio.
This project went at max speed so we could get the family back into their home as quickly as possible. We went from demo to drywall in just 10 days, and the project completed in just over 4 weeks.
